£780 raised for Brum Xmas Dinner
A huge sense of pride across our school community as we wore festive wear and Christmas jumpers to raise money for Brum Xmas Dinner.
A small, local charity, manned by mainly retired social workers and those that were in care themselves when they were younger, provide a lovely Christmas dinner on Christmas Day.
Care leavers from age 16-25 are nominated by their social workers if they live alone and are without any family. The idea is to provide company and social warmth for a day that for many can be challenging.
Our school family has raised £780 to support the meal, a bag of food and toiletries for the holiday and a present. No one needs to be alone at Christmas and so we wanted those young care leavers who are aged 16-25 and live by themselves to know that we care and we are with them.
There are simply no words which can adequately express our thanks to ALL of YOU from ALL of us at @BrumXmasDinner.,Not only have you enabled us to reach our stretch target but also exceed it too. Such an amazing and wonderful gift of love, joy and generosity @onesellywoman pic.twitter.com/IQ90OH8pfx
