Encouraging students in their extra-curricular pursuits is always rewarding, and it's been great to see Tom B doing amazing things on the golf course in tandem with his A-Level studies. We thought we'd share this round up:
I would like to say thank you for the school support for Tom’s golf during his a-levels, I know it has probably been at the detriment to his studies at times which does go against the traditional approach of schools.
However over the last couple of weeks all the hard work that Tom has been putting into his golf is now starting to give him amazing rewards.
Tom was invited to play in the G4D open at Woburn which was global event which had the Top 80 golfers with a disability compete over 54 holes of golf. The field included many Professional touring golfers, Tom finished overall 7th and Won his category. Which was amazing considering he had an A-Level in the middle of it all.
The school even got a mention on the live feed.
Due to his success on the on the course by earning a ranking in the top 20 in the world, Tom has now been selected to play for England at an event in Germany for a week in July.
And it doesn’t stop there yesterday the PGA confirmed they have offered Tom a unconditional place on the PGA degree course at Birmingham Uni which starts in October 2024, this is done along side working as an assistant Pro at Robin Hood Golf Club.
Congratulations on smashing it Tom.
