Escuela de espanol por el dia
It was an exciting day at North as our Spanish linguists had the opportunity for a day of cultural immersion into another school, live in Seville, Spain, to experience chatting with students; learning about the culture, food and having the opportunity to ask questions.
As part of the cultural experience, they participated in a flamenco workshop in which they learned all about the language of the fan, and the history of flamenco dancing and had a live flamenco lesson with a professional flamenco dancer, Camila Zulaica. It was great fun seeing the language being used for instructions and seeing the immediate impact with the dancing.
To finish the day, students took part in a food workshop and learned all about different Spanish tapas and dishes, their ingredients and how to cook them with a Spanish food teacher from Seville and her helper Nicolás, who is the winner of Master Chef Junior in Spain. Students also tried some Spanish omelettes and Palmeritas.
Overall, students had a wonderful experience and enjoyed every minute of the day while practising their Spanish speaking skills! We can't wait for many of this cohort to continue their studies into the sixth form with our A Level Spanish course.Gracias por leer!
