National Apprenticeship Week A Success
Last week saw a range of activities in school to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week 2022 and it was fantastic to see how enthusiastically our students explored the different options on offer to them.
Students across the school spent one of their CARE sessions exploring what Apprenticeships are, with the Lower School exploring Post-16 options in detail and our Sixth Formers looking at Higher and Degree Apprenticeships.
This work was supported by an Apprenticeship Menu of Activities which was sent home for parent/carers to share with their children, allowing them to explore what Apprenticeships and T-levels actually are as well as providing access to online Apprenticeship employer events, Apprentices’ talks and information about how to search for Apprenticeships both nationally and locally.
Year 10 spent some lesson time exploring how the skills and knowledge learnt in their studies can be put into practice in a plethora of different Apprenticeships linked to their subjects, which included case studies from actual Apprentices.
Finally, our new Careers Advisor, Mrs Holmes, focussed her Careers interviews on students who were interested in both Post-16 and Degree Apprenticeships.
All in all, a very successful week and we are now really looking forward to National Careers Week in March.
