Olympic Gold impacts on North!
Dame Kelly Holmes, double gold winner at the Olympics, is working with North students through the trust she has developed over the last twelve years.
Thanks to the Dame Kelly Holme's Trust we have launched our On Track To Achieve programme. The sports charity supports students using world class athletes to train & mentor our students, increasing self-confidence and resilience. The innovative seven-month school-based mentoring programme will see Athlete Mentors work with groups of young people in our year 9 and 10. The programme will help develop the confidence, emotional resilience and teamwork of our students and enable them to reflect on their own aspirations for the future.
Over the course of the programme, our students will have the opportunity to:
Work with an Athlete Mentor to achieve their personal goals and targets set for the programme.
Keep an up-to-date account that reflects their development and activities undertaken.
Work as a team with other young people from that year group and within the school and local community.
Be part of a social action project that will make a positive impact locally.We are so proud to be part of such a fantastic programme and cannot wait to see the impact it has on our youngsters.
