Psychology and Criminology Hit the Big Smoke

Year 13 Psychology and Criminology students spent two days in London exploring the capital city and learning outside of the classroom. They had a full tour of the Royal Courts of Justice, learning about appeals, famous cases (remember Wagatha Christie?!), cost and the justice system itself. The tour was led by a Fleet Street journalist who has worked at the courts and The Old Bailey for over 35 years and had a wealth of stories to share.
They also took in a Jack the Ripper tour around the dark streets of Whitechapel, Brick Lane and even Itchy Park, we learnt about the victims, the history, the architecture and what it was like to live there in the 1880s.
We also took in the famous sights of the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Millenium Bridge, Tate Modern, St Paul's Cathedral, Big Ben and many challenged their fear of heights on the London Eye!
The tour finished with lunch in front of Buckingham Palace (and yes, the King was in!) before a whistlestop tour of the Science Museum and a loud sing-along on the coach home. A great time had by all and we're already planning next year's trip!
