Rainbow Laces Day
The staff and students came together in a sea of colour to recognise the diversity and inclusivity of our LGBTQ community in the school.
With all tutors talking to students in tutor time on Wednesday 9 Dec, the day of Rainbow Laces nationally, students learned about the rainbow flag and its importance. Students learned that it was similar to racism: you should look to see and judge a person by their actions, rather than their skin colour and with LGBTQ, it was just the same concept. All students are part of our North family and all are seen as equal.
With a visible statement of solidarity, understanding and support, the lines from ‘The Greatest Showman’ felt relevant:
Look out 'cause here I come
And I'm marching on to the beat I drum
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apologies, this is me’ #northallies
