Resilience, fun and pride
The Duke of Edinburgh Award is a highly prestigious, recognisably challenging achievement that is popular with students at North. Over two consecutive weekends, the Bronze and Silver Award groups went out on their adventures - whatever the weather!
Year 9 students had their first taste of independence, navigation skills and of course, spending time problem solving and chatting with friends. The following weekend, we had the older students for their Silver Award spending the day walking and the evening camping out and having fun.
This award allows students to try something different and spend time with students with similar interests and see the countryside, all whilst having fun and building confidence and resilience to problem solve.
Thanks to all our staff who support these expeditions and accompany the students.
