Year 10 Aspiration Day
There was a real buzz about the future last week when Year-10 experienced a Post-16 Aspirations Day. Students enjoyed a plethora of A-Level lessons, both in familiar subjects such as English and History and new areas of learning such as Criminology. Elsewhere, students explored vocational Post-16 options with sessions including Electronics, Animal Care, Art, Travel and Tourism and Engineering. In addition, these students attended sessions on how to choose a college course and effective interview skills, which prepared them all for employer interviews later in the day with employers from businesses such as HOW College, Zest Education and Jaguar Land Rover. Finally, all students listened to a university presentation from North Bromsgrove alumni Leon Harris, as well as one on Apprenticeships. All of our students agreed that the day had been particularly interesting and informative and whatever path our Year 10s ultimately decide to follow, they all really learnt many things that will support them in making effective decisions about their Post-16 pathways.
